Bangkok sits at the center of Thailand's security scene. The city is Southeast Asia's fintech and e-commerce gravity well, and its banks, payment providers and super-apps all run mature application security teams. That corporate demand has pulled a lot of new players onto HackerDNA - Bangkok-based engineers use the platform to keep their offensive skills sharp between real engagements, and students follow them in.

The Chulalongkorn and KMUTT feeders

Chulalongkorn University, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and Mahidol University are the main academic feeders to the Thai board. Their computer science and information security programs run active CTF clubs, and students frequently move from local campus events to HackerDNA as a year-round training ground. A meaningful share of the Thai top 30 lists one of those three universities on their profile.

Thai players tend to over-index on web exploitation and forensics. Web is the natural entry category given the local fintech stack, and forensics rewards the careful, step-by-step approach common in Thai university labs. Crypto is a smaller but growing third category.
