Top Ethical Hackers in Indonesia

Indonesia's current top 3

takerstest (12840 XP), spawn2pwn (10313 XP) and p1d0f (7268 XP) hold the top three positions on the Indonesian board. Rankings shift often as new labs drop.

The Jakarta fintech security scene on HackerDNA

Jakarta is Southeast Asia's biggest consumer tech market, and that shapes the national board. The super-apps and payment platforms that dominate everyday life in Indonesia run large in-house application security teams, and their engineers use HackerDNA to stay sharp between real engagements. That professional presence anchors the top of the Indonesian board, while students make up the bulk of the long tail.

Where Indonesian players focus: web and Android

Indonesian players tend to over-index on web exploitation and mobile, especially Android. The reason is structural: the local tech stack is overwhelmingly Android-first, so mobile security is a practical career skill rather than an exotic category. Web is the natural entry point, and many Indonesian players use the mobile labs as their differentiator against players from regions with different device mixes.

The UI and ITB feeders

Universitas Indonesia and Institut Teknologi Bandung are the two dominant academic feeders, with Telkom University and Universitas Gadjah Mada close behind. Their CS and information security programs run active campus CTF clubs that push students onto HackerDNA as a year-round practice ground. IDCERT, the national CSIRT, provides the broader institutional backbone for the Indonesian security community.

Climbing the Indonesian board

New Indonesian players usually break into the national top 100 within two to three weeks by clearing easy and medium web labs, then adding Android mobile labs for category differentiation. Writeup XP is the fastest accelerator beyond the top 100.
