imalizulqarnain (4385 XP), FaizanAhmed (2102 XP) and BinaryBeast2110 (1750 XP) are the current top three Pakistani ethical hackers on HackerDNA. The order changes regularly - the gap between Pakistan's rank 1 and rank 10 is small enough that one well-timed pwn lab or one accepted writeup can shuffle the leaderboard significantly.
Pakistan's most internationally recognised ethical hacker is Rafay Baloch, who is listed in the security halls of fame at Google, Microsoft, Facebook and PayPal and is best known for a series of address-bar spoofing CVEs in Safari, Edge and Chrome (CVE-2018-8383, CVE-2020-9987 and others). He was paid a $10,000 bounty by PayPal in 2012 - one of the largest bounties of that era - and was recognised by the ISPR with the Pride for Pakistan award in March 2022. The Pakistani HackerDNA leaderboard is, in many ways, where the next generation of Pakistani researchers builds the same kind of reputation, one solved lab and one published writeup at a time.
Most of the Pakistani top 50 on HackerDNA come from one of a small set of university communities. NUST's Military College of Signals (MCS) hosts NCSAEL, the National Cyber Security Auditing and Evaluation Lab - one of 12 labs in Pakistan's National Centre for Cyber Security (NCCS), established in June 2018 by the Higher Education Commission. FAST-NUCES, Air University, Bahria and LUMS each contribute student CTF teams that bleed into HackerDNA accounts. If you're studying at any of those universities, you're probably one or two introductions away from someone already in the Pakistani top 100.
Pakistani HackerDNA players over-index on web exploitation and OSINT - the same areas where Pakistani bug hunters consistently appear on HackerOne and Bugcrowd hall-of-fame lists. The local pool skews young: looking at the current top 20, the average account age is shorter than in most other top-25 countries, which is consistent with a community dominated by students and early-career researchers.
Two to three lab solves per week plus a writeup on each is enough to break into the Pakistani top 100 from a fresh account within a couple of months. The current top 20 averages four to five solves a week. Specialise in one category before diversifying - web is the fastest on-ramp because it has the most labs - and write up everything you finish. The writeup bonus stacks on the solve XP and roughly doubles your effective XP rate.
imalizulqarnain currently holds Pakistan's #1 position with 4385 XP, followed by FaizanAhmed (2102) and BinaryBeast2110 (1750). The board changes daily.
Rafay Baloch is Pakistan's most internationally famous browser security researcher (CVE-2018-8383, CVE-2020-9987, and a place in Google, Microsoft, Facebook and PayPal halls of fame), but the HackerDNA Pakistan board ranks active platform players by lab solves and writeups - a different criterion from career CVE impact.
478 Pakistani players are currently registered on the leaderboard. New players join every day, mostly students at NUST, FAST-NUCES, Air University, Bahria and LUMS.
The National Centre for Cyber Security, established in June 2018 by Pakistan's Higher Education Commission. It is a federation of 12 affiliated R&D labs at Pakistani universities, including NCSAEL at NUST Military College of Signals. Many Pakistani HackerDNA players come from these university communities.
Pakistani HackerDNA players over-index on web exploitation and OSINT, matching where Pakistani bug hunters have had the most international success on HackerOne and Bugcrowd.
