Small country, big leaderboard

By population Romania is a mid-sized European country, but on HackerDNA it consistently lands in the upper half of the top-25 by ranked-user count. The Romanian top 50 is competitive but reachable. Realistic baseline: two to three lab solves per week plus an accepted writeup on most of them, sustained for two to three months. Specialise in one category before diversifying - reversing has the highest XP-per-hour for experienced players, but web is the fastest on-ramp.
