In May we retired the Hands-On section to make room for a bigger Learn experience. It has since shipped as the Learning Path: bite-size interactive lessons that sit alongside the full lab catalogue, which never changed.
Here is what replaced Hands-On, what happened to the old links, and where to practise today.
TL;DR: Hands-On is gone and the Learning Path took its slot under Learn in the sidebar, with 50+ short interactive lessons open to every signed-in account, free ones included. Old /hands-on links now redirect to the lab catalogue. Labs, courses and the Daily Hack are unchanged.
What Replaced Hands-On: the Learning Path
The guided Hands-On format never quite found its rhythm next to the open challenge catalogue, so rather than keep tweaking it we cleared the slot and rebuilt the idea from the feedback you sent us.
The result is the Learning Path. Each lesson is a few minutes of short, interactive steps: you answer as you go, so you are doing rather than reading. It starts from the basics (the hacker mindset, encoding versus encryption, how passwords break, recon and OSINT) with the Hacking 101 course, and new lessons keep landing.
You will find it under Learn in the sidebar once you are signed in.
What Happened to Old Hands-On Links
- The
/hands-onroute is offline. Old links to it, or to individual Hands-On labs, now redirect permanently to the lab catalogue at/labs. - Hands-On labs were removed from the navigation, the dashboard and our public sitemaps.
Standard challenge labs at /labs and courses at /courses were not affected.
Everything Else Is Unchanged
- Challenge labs at
/labs, across web, crypto, forensics, reversing, pwn, OSINT, stego, cloud and mobile. - The full course catalogue at /courses, including web attacks, network pentesting, JWT hacking and password cracking.
- The Daily Hack, a free hacking puzzle every day, plus leaderboards and the free tier. No credit card, no setup, all in the browser.
Thanks for Being Here
To everyone who put time into Hands-On flags: thank you. Your feedback shaped the Learning Path directly. If you have thoughts on what it should cover next, drop us a line on the contact page or hit reply on the next newsletter.
See you in the labs.
